Ministry among Ukrainian refugees in Bucharest

By caring for the physical needs of refugees from Ukraine, we show the love of Christ and open doors to share with them the Gospel that changes lives.

For Ukrainians, war is a new reality. It is a new reality for Romania as well. Since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, over 6.2 million Ukrainian refugees have fled to other countries. Between February 24 - May 15, there were 944,197 Ukrainian refugees who arrived in Romania.  Of these 87,120 have remained in Romania; 34% children, 54% adult women, 12% adult men.

There are more refugees living in Bucharest than any other city in Romania.

There are now about 10 000 refugee children from Ukraine. Every child experiences war is his/her own way. Most are here with only their mom, while their dad is back in Ukraine.

One of their urgent needs is to continue their school studies, following their regular program in the Ukrainian language, and for younger kids to be able to attend a kindergarten. It is very important that they can be in a familiar environment, learning and spending time with other kids.

We want to help meet this need. And, we see it as a great opportunity to share the Gospel with the children and their families. We are organizing a summer Day Camp for Ukrainian children with educational programs and activities for kids and their mothers.

32 kids 3-7 years are on the Day Camp project Mon - Fri from 9 to 16.30

There are also plans to start weekly meetings with teenagers and prayer meetings with adults.

In July and August we are planning to add 2 weeks of English Camp for teenagers with many Ukrainian kids where the Gospel will be presented throughout the day.

Another target audience we started to reach is teachers. We already did one conference for them, and in August we are planning a 5 day Camp.

Through all these strategies we desire to facilitate the building of community for Ukrainians in Bucharest, where they will get help and most importantly a Message of Hope.

We can't do it on our own! You can help us to make these strategies a reality.

We invite you to be a part of it.
